چکیده
In dental implantology, the guided bone regeneration (GBR) membrane plays an active role in increasing alveolar volume. However, there are some drawbacks to current commercial membranes, such as non-degradability for non-absorbable membranes and low mechanical strength absorbable membranes. Recently, magnesium (Mg) alloys have been proposed potential barrier candidates. As a result, purpose of this research is assess feasibility Mg GBR terms physicochemical properties biological performance. were identified materials due their adjustable degradation, adequate support, sound osteogenic property, good bacteriostatic activity, favorable wound-healing ability. Nonetheless, rapid degradation stress corrosion cracking (SCC)/corrosion fatigue (CF) major concerns use Mg-based which can be mitigated through alloying, heat treatment, thermomechanical deformation, other methods. Finally, prospects design manufacture future put forth.

Guided bone regeneration (GBR) on healing bone defects: a histological study in rabbits.
In this study, the effects of guided bone regeneration (GBR) on the healing of bone defects were evaluated. Resorbable membranes were placed in experimentally formed cavities in the right posterior tibia of 30 rabbits. Decalcified histological sections were evaluated using optical microscopy at 10, 20, and 30 days after GBR. Osteocondrial bone union, active bone formation and spongiosal bone fo...
متن کاملNovel membrane for guided bone regeneration.
Membranes have been clinically used for guided tissue and bone regeneration for decades, but their use in every day clinical practice is rather limited. We developed a biodegradable membrane (InionGTR) composed of polylactide, polyglycolide and trimethylene carbonate aiming to improve the properties of membrane. Before application the membrane is treated with N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP) to achie...
متن کاملGuided bone regeneration: A literature review
Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a reconstructive procedure of alveolar ridge using membranes. This procedure is indicated when there is no sufficient bone for implantation, or in the case of optimal implant installation for esthetic or functional needs. GBR can be performed before implant placement, when there is not enough bone for initial stability of implants and less predictable outcomes ...
متن کاملRecent advances in mechanobiological modeling of bone regeneration
Skeletal regeneration and bone fracture repair involves complex cellular and molecular events that result in new bone formation. Many of the critical steps during bone healing are dependent on the local mechanical environment in the healing tissue. Computational models are used together with mechano-regulation algorithms to predict the influence of mechanical stimuli on the tissue differentiati...
متن کاملGuided Bone Regeneration (GBR) Utilizing Injectable Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) Delivery Gel
Methods: Critical-sized defects were created in rat calvariae and GBR procedures were performed with a collagen membrane either alone (control), plus bolus delivery of VEGF, or plus application of VEGF releasing hydrogels (VEGF Alg). Four and eight weeks following treatment, defect sites were evaluated with microcomputed tomographic and histomorphometric analyses for blood vessel and bone forma...
